Jason Statham (Spy, Fast & Furious 7) spelar huvudrollen i nya action-thrillern THE MEG där vi får följa ett internationellt undervattensteam som attackerats av en massiv varelse, som man tidigare trodde var utrotad. Nu ligger deras undervattenstank på Stilla havets botten – med besättningen fångade inuti…
I kampen mot klockan, tar de hjälp av djuphavsdykaren och experten Jonas Taylor (Jason Statham) för att rädda besättningen men också havet, från det enorma hotet: en 20-meter lång haj som kallas ”Megalodon”.
Vad man inte visste tidigare, var att Taylor hade stött på samma skrämmande varelse några år innan. Tillsammans med oceanografens dotter Suyin (Li Bingbing) måste Taylor möta sina största rädslor samt riskera sitt eget liv för att rädda alla som är instängda på botten… Och ännu en gång hamna öga mot öga med det största rovdjuret som någonsin existerat.
