Not to be confused with the Purrgation Box, the upcoming Felinid release.

It seems like a shame - possibly even a bit cheap of them - to put the book in this set that has the artwork that prominently features the Castellan, but not include the new Castellan model that's just been shown off by GW, which is made to look exactly like it.

I’m definitely buying it, but there are some caveats as to why:

1. Black Templars is “my” army. Has been since I got into 40K with indomitus. I haven’t bought the old old kits so I basically have basic primaris in black.

2. I haven’t picked up a redemptor dread yet, so to me this is all new even if not every model is never seen before.

3. I would almost certainly end up picking up all these pieces at some point anyway

4. I have some store credit leftover at my LGS for helping out at an event so my paying price is more like $175 than $200.

That's not an army, it's basically a few new models with early release and an old stock dreadnought. . If you don't want the dread it's just not worth it. . I feel like they stuck that in there to bump the price up.

you basically pay about 50 usd more for the value of a start collect+data card+codex using basic adding up

I was a Fantasy player for a long time but always wanted to collect the Black Templars. So I painted my Marines from the starter box in BT sheme and than GW announced a new Supplement for them. I'm really hyped and I definitely like the Box a lot. My army is quite small so I'd use all the models and I prefer the 3e artwork over the new one so the book has a higher value for me as well.
It's just a happy coincidence and I like how many new models and units were made for the BT compared to the other SM chapters.

Honestly the value sucks ass for that money I'd expect way more.
Chuck the redemptor, throw in two more squads and add a transport.

Concerning the amount of chainswords in the Crusader Kit, it seems like the two sprues you show are only half of the kit as they are in it twice (I can only count 5 leg pairs on the photos, 3 Power Armoured and 2 Neophyte), so it probably will contain enough Chainswords for everyone

Great video, but is there any chance you could include AU prices, not only to inform people but the price is pretty nuts and to hear your thoughts on wether the prices are even worth it, because combat patrols here cost over 200 bucks

I’ll just get the Codex on its own when it comes out and make a 3000 pt Black Templar Crusade much later on.

Look how overly spaced out the infantry are in the picture lmao. This is embarrassing. They know they feel guilty for asking £125 for such a paltry offering. No buy.

As always too expensive these days. I miss the days I felt they released discounted boxes.

You know, it really bugs GW increases the price by $30 I the US for seemingly no reason.

There's 6 Chainswords and only 5 pairs of legs. It's safe to say that the remaining 4 will be on the other half of the set.

Still expecting a Primaris Scout release, considering there's Black Templar equipment for the Neophytes in their sprue, while the actual Neophyte models are pretty vanilla. No reason for that split, unless they want to sell them for use with other SM armies, too.

Not to mention that these boxes should usually be at least usable out of the box, which this one would only be if the Neophytes can also be assembled as a separate Scout squad.

In real world money yes, it is a bad deal. You can easily put a full 300 point infinity army on the table for that money. With extra models for different options.

In "GW" money, it is not a bad deal... after you sell your kidney.

$200 for a book, a Redemptor that could have been replaced by terminators or primaris marines, and a couple squads.

The only thing this box is purging is your wallet.

3D printing are catching on so fast

There is a leak picture of the combat patrol.

1 Crusader squad, 1 Intercessor squad, The Marshal, and a repulsor. It also might have the upgrade kit, as there seems to be two Sword Brethren (1 for each squad) in the picture, and several other bits on the repulsor.

It's a bit disappointing seeing everything go towards mono-posing and especially with every new character model released is "Dude with foot on rock, holding up a sword/staff/cross/relic". The new Grimaldus, besides his ridiculous Nemesis looking helmet, looks so much alike in pose to the new Emperor's Champion who in turn looks like the Primaris Lieutenant and the Primaris Chaplain. Or perhaps I'm just being cynical and boring.

I think at a minimum these boxes shouldn’t contain old sculpts. As a showcase it kind of sucks honestly.
