We have been looking for a fun plane on a budget. The Citabria seemed to fit the bill, so we started looking. We found one that looked good on paper, check out the video to see how it turned out (and maybe learn something about the process).

When I was 15 years old my dad and I had a 1965 Citabria. It had been landed long on skis and went into trees. Dad ran out of money when all the airframe repairs had been done. The left wing was bent up pretty bad outboard of the strut attach points, and the gear had been folded up into the fuse. I had been working on a farm 16 to 18 hrs a day 7 days a week. My dad had found a low time engine from another Citabria that had been in a hanger fire. With all that hard earned money I had in the bank I said let's go get that engine. I soloed that plane about 6 months later at 16 years old. I am now 60 years dad passed in 2016. Those memories made in that plane are of the fondest of my entire life.

Really enjoyed this quick flight. I enjoy listening to you chatting as you fly (and on the ground). Feels like I'm riding along. :-) Thanks.

Thank you for the ride. I always enjoy listening to you. As a student pilot and an old man. I always learn something when I fly with you. Thank you.

Enjoyed the video Jim. I second your comments about chasing down good candidates when only to find that it is not what you thought it was!! Good ones are hard to find, as I'm finding out for myself the hard way and when you do---be ready to pay dearly!! I'm looking now for 172---bout ready to give up. Thanks from Deep Down in Cajun Country--KOPL

I just love the 150 / 152. It’s a Great little plane. I finished my private out of W24 Lynchbug Va 10 years ago. Our twin daughters just finished at LU 12/2020 as well. Many blessings for the New Year.

Great content and camera work. With the paint issue, $17.5k looks about right to me. I just don’t see $35k walking in the door. It would have been fun watching your son transition to a taildragger. It’s always fun to watch someone get out of a tricycle and step in to a taildragger, no matter who it is. I wish I had film of my first J3 takeoff in 1974. I can still hear the right side tire screeching as the instructor had his foot on the heel brake trying to keep us on the runway. He told me what to expect and I was still headed for the grass. He was laughing the whole time, . I was 19 and had just got my PPL. J3’s rented for $8 hr. at W96 back then. I’d pay to have film of my first takeoff. Thanks Jim.

Great video - your content is always interesting. I think you'll find a better plane. So - I'm not gonna lie - came here also because I was hoping to hear something about Maddie as she hasn't posted anything in some time. Do hope all is well with her - and she's just busy - or not in the mood to make videos - that I would get. Please say 'Hi' - I think I can speak for all her subs when I say - We miss you Maddie and hope to see you on the you tubes again - if your so inclined. Keep having fun guys.

Retired A&P, one of the first jobs I had in the field was re-covering a Citabria with Ceconite in Galveston, Tx in like 1988.

Enjoying your videos. I'm looking for an airplane to buy, and it has been frustrating to travel across the country and pay for hotel rooms and rental cars only to find out the airplane wasn't as advertised. I might be interested in your 150.
