This lesson introduces the title of John's Gospel in Greek: κατα Ιωαννην

This title also represents our first phrase in Koine New Testament Greek. "John" in Greek is Ιωαννης, however "John" becomes Ιωαννην as a direct object. The preposition κατα makes "John" a prepositional phrase. As a direct object, the name "John" becomes Ιωαννην. The technical word for a direct object is the accusative.
