A good trick for comparison, to hear the difference between the big and small... is this:
Big: 3:19 ... Little: 3:48 -- Big: 4:18 ... Little: 4:48 --- Big: 5:19 ... Little: 6:10
Section2: Big 5:27 ... Little: 6:21 --- (I was offered a "Little"... and am here doing research... )

The Little Big Muff was my first pedal. I got it for $20 bucks in 81' from a kid at school. I had a Kramer Pacer Series and shared a Roland Cube 60 keyboard amp with my older sister who played a Chapman Stick.
When I stomped on that thing it was pure Heaven! "All Aboard!"

I love the big muff. Just sounds so creamy to me. I've got the green russian reissue but I love all versions. Fantastic pedal.

I've always read that there wasn't supposed to be a difference between these two. The LBM to me is a bit darker, not as compressed, and with single coils sounds incredible. The Big box BM I had in the past sounded a little more "fizzier" than the one you played. I definitely think I still prefer the Little Big Muff. How about a comparison between the big box Double Muff and the Double Muff reissue?? Great video though man!

There is noticeable difference. I own a big box reissue, a Nano version and I had a chance to try a vintage early 80s big muff and they all sounded different. They were great. My go to big muff is the op amp big muff Nano but you can’t go wrong with any big muff.

Back in the late 70's when I was in my teens, had one, sounded great for my rock and metal bands. Of course, I never stopped to consider that it would remain a standard for going on 50 years. I either sold it or it broke and I discarded it, unless it's hiding somewhere in storage. And now, of course I want another one. The vintage>reissue BMP>LBMP, but footprint is a consideration on your footboard. Thanks for the comparison video.

It's a shame they can't get the NYC "big" Big Muff in a smaller box with the same sound, it is superior to the little.
Takes so much room on a pedal board! Sacrifices I suppose.

I liked the big bar steward, for looks and sound although I could live with either. I still wanna see the insides Rob . I'm curious wether the big boy has a small tag board inside and the little guy is stuffed to the gills lol 😊🎸

You guys know where I can find power adapters for that Big Muff? Actually I have DOD pedals and they look the same. I hate that they use non-standard adapter plugs!

I got a little big muff not long ago and it is cool. However, there is no Made in NYC big muff standard catchphrase on both pedal and on box, just like in case of the one used in the video. Is it possible it's a fake or maybe just newly produced with changes? I bought it new from established vendor but you know, that seems sus...
