I don't know if she's singing about herself or just speculating about people who prefer solitude but I can relate to this song. I was a hermit according to my sister until I met my wife when I was in my early 30's. We were married for 31 years and last summer passed suddenly from cancer. Now I'm a loner again. I have grown children but its not the same thing. I expect I will die alone but I can't complain. I lived most of my life in love and no one can take it away from me.
