Tears for Fears es una banda de pop rock inglesa formada en 1981 por Roland Orzabal y Curt Smith . Tears for Fears fue parte de la Segunda Invasión Británica de Estados Unidos impulsada por MTV . El álbum debut de la banda, The Hurting (1983), alcanzó el número uno en la lista de álbumes del Reino Unido . Su segundo álbum, Songs from the Big Chair (1985), alcanzó el número uno en la de EE.UU. Billboard 200 , alcanzando multi-platino en el Reino Unido y los EE.UU.. Songs from the Big Chair contenían dos éxitos número uno de Billboard Hot 100 : " Shout " y " Everybody Wants to Rule the World ". Esta última canción ganó el premio Brit al Mejor Sencillo Británico en 1986. Después del lanzamiento de su tercer álbum de platino, The Seeds of Love (1989), Smith y Orzabal tuvieron una ruptura enconada en 1991, se reconciliaron en 2000 y lanzaron un álbum de nuevo material, Everybody Loves a Happy Ending , en 2004.
