As much as I appreciate the effort, just cutting down a baseplate is probably the simpler solution that doesn't damage the pieces either.

Any 3D printed Lego piece will damage Lego mini figs so I suggest putting a 2x2 plate down where the legs would connect

Oh my god. That frame idea is a lot like i did for my marvel minifigures the last week. But not damaging any pieces and keeping it clean.

you can print the ikea backboard on your printer!! someone has uploaded it on bambu handy and has soooo many options like 3x3, 4x3, 4x4, 5x5 and larger etc
