Picking husbands/wives can be very detrimental to your livelihood! Choose wisely!

He brings home 8K a month, that is definitely too much to be evicted or have cars repossessed. Most couples together don't bring home 8K a month.

Makes $8, 000 a month, two repossessed cars and $10, 000 in back rent? Does this guy have a gambling problem or something? Good lord!

She doesn’t have access to their bank account? I’d be looking at what’s coming in and what’s going out.

My husband has driven us to homelessness after 25 years. Sadly our marriage is over due to consistent financial infidelity.

When Dave gives couples FPU for free, he should require them to call back in a year later and say how things went.

$8, 000/Month and bills aren’t being paid? He’s spending that money in some form of addiction(s) or other women.

I been through this in my marriage. Gave him time to sort out his issues with money, didn't work. I got a second job, saved what I could and filed for divorce. My husband wasn't a bad guy but he was completely selfish and didn't care if we lost our home or the security for our children. I later found out he had a gambling habit. A marriage should have trust and the desire to contribute to the happiness and security of the family unit. When one is selfish and doen't care about the other and makes their life worse with reckless acts...that is not a good marriage and if they dont change after some time, you need to quit.

Dave doesn’t ask enough questions.
1. What does he do for a living?
2. Do you actually SEE the money that you say he’s bringing in every month?
3. Do you check the balances of the bills each month and how much is being paid?
4. Does he have an addiction or multiple children and girlfriends?

When my kids were young, my wife stayed home and I logged tons of hours to support our fam. Budgeting was critical and we clipped coupons and cut expenses regularly whenever possible. Daycare is expensive and not the way we wanted to raise our kids. Plus it's expensive, if I didn't get that point across

My husband cannot handle money at all. After 34 years we separated for 13 years because of the problems, including gambling and bankruptcy. We now live together again but it was on condition that I handle all the money. He had to agree to this to come back home and I enforce it. It is the only way I could live with him. We are both retired now but needed to combine our money in order to have enough. I implemented Dave Ramsey's baby steps, now on step 3, and things are much better. He has not been very on-board with me, but it has been a year, and he is appreciating what I am doing. This lady's story reminded me of my own. He maybe should not ever have a say about handling the money.

This sounds like a control issue not a financial issue 🤔

Full financial disclosure and agreement on how money will be handled should occur PRIOR to marriage. No couple should move forward without this step.

They never had to stable base to begin with. He may have addictions.

Dave, are you really that naive, he has some sort of problem, it’s either drugs, gambling, girls or some sort of other issue.

I feel like there is a huge piece missing in this story.
