It is a pass for me. Getting a phone at the price of a MacBook pro doesn't make sense. If the tariff is still in place, the price will be too much.

I feel like it should be at least the 6.1 when folded. 5.5 inches seems small. Not a deal breaker, I’m just having doubts it’s that small on the outter display. Also for the crease. I have a feeling they’ve figured out something with the hinge mechanism to create enough tension to get rid of or eliminate the crease. We’ll see.

I’m one of the people that has been using Apple for years, all products. If they made a folding iPhone to be a tablet I’m in line for it… I’ve been waiting for a while! Looking at other companies with foldable phones but i love using Apple and how simple they have always been!

Apple releasing a folding iPhone is absolutely huge for the folding market. Just a few years ago, foldable phones were an obscure device for techies, but with Apple getting into the race, this will bring the segment mainstream which will help improve folding tech and possibly force prices lower.

I honestly was hesitant about the concept; however, in the upcoming year i will be in the market for a new iPhone and iPad but if Apple seriously makes this device I’m in! It would be a great way to have both an iPhone and iPad in one IMO.

I did not think we would see a foldable iPhone so soon but I like the idea. I would get a small Bluetooth keyboard and use it as a netbook type of device in addition to a phone. I’ve actually been looking at an 8” netbook that I can take with me everywhere.

we all know apple waits till they've mostly perfected the tech before launching it. Been dying to see their approach on these because if there's one company capable of fullfilling my fantasy of having an smartbook its prolly them.

Thanks for all the info, sir! Are the iPhone ‘flip’ plans still a go at the same time as the ‘fold’? Or is it just the fold and the iPad foldable you mentioned? Because I was, and still am, really wanting to get an iPhone of the ‘flip’ variety.

The crease is there for a purpose to increase durability (number of folds/unfolds).
One good thing with Apple is when it cracks when you open it (so called Octopus mode where the black ink is released!), being able to bring to a store for resolution will be nice. Also, Apple Care+ will be a good idea more than ever.

But the fact a phone costing nearly as much as an ounce of gold is a tough pill to swallow!
