They're very helpful but not all of them can be used by the elderly alone, there has to be someone to help. If the elderly can drive and then walk to the trunk to take the device out, what's the purpose of this device?!

Great gadgets, but not priced for most elderly people who are living on Social Security based on much lower wages paid during their working years. $1800 for the toilet lifter is way beyond most elderly people's means. The wealthy elderly can HIRE full-time caretakers and housekeepers and can afford to have their meals delivered all the time - the majority of elderly people can't afford such things. Inventors need to take affordability (real affordability, not $1800 for a toilet lifter) into account instead of all the money they'll make off old, and often ill and disabled, people.

Will insurance pay? Even with these gadgets human assistance is sometimes still needed.
I can no longer use a cane, a walker doesn't climb stairs.

Don't use the toilet seat that lifts you up or the chairs that do. My son bought me chair like that because I couldn't get up by myself and I had know one to help me during the day so I used that I ended up in hospital after two weeks in ICU I went to regular floor I tried to get out of bed and couldn't I lost the ability couldn't figure it out the doctor asked me questions I told him about the chair and he said that's why there great and help but if used to much you lose the ability to do yourself. I still need to have walker and help won't use that on chair again.
