I love the proper way of holding these fish is "grip them like they owe you money"

You can heat the jig cuts to melting point and repair them fairly quickly

It’s awesome to see that the fish I grew up eating in the Philippines is getting some recognition here in America. It’s delicious flaky fish but the way we cook it back home is just with some salt and shallow fried till the skin is golden brown and crispy.

In Trinidad we call them Cutlass Fish. Tastes amazing!

Had an absolute giant of one come within a foot of my face while diving in Okinawa Japan on a night dive. Thought it might take a chunk out of my face. One of the coolest dives I can remember. The chrome-like color they have is pretty wild to see while in the water at night with them. Almost invisible at times.

Those are absolutely the best bait for king mackerel.

Also venomous. And they can fly. And they're very sarcastic.

In Southeast asia. We tag them as belt fish.
We will scrap off the silver on their skin.
As it may have a high concentration of mercury.
We normally sprinkle some sea salt, flour them with corn starch, and deep fry them.
Meat is soft and sweet.

These are good! They are called 갈치 in Korean, but I never knew the English name until now. They are served often here in Korea. Copy and paste this into google for some different recipes for this fish 갈치 요리법. You can find them grilled or braised pretty often

Never heard or seen that fish but the second you said "ribbon fish" it really did look like a ribbon, so gorgeous 😍

One of the most popular fish in Korea, every fish market had 100s of them on ice when I was there.

These actually taste pretty good, I had some fresh ones just like this and I would recommend! More bones but has more flavor than a Tilapia.

I've never seen a fish like that in my life, it's pretty cool looking. Especially when you fried it up. 😋🤗😂

I’m excited tomorrow. I’m going fishing with my uncle.

Excellent fish Tacos. They're a fan of anything shiny, so a lead diamond jig with a treble hook and some reflective tape will pull these in all day

When i was a kid, my Mom used to buy it from a local market near our home. She said that the fish was quite rare, if available, the price was quite expensive.

I was surprised, watching some fishing videos, saying this fish is one of trash fish 😅.

It taste good, my mom used to cook it with many recipes varieties.

I guess, one man's trash is indeed another man's treasure.

One of the first sea fish I caught, there’s something about seeing them shimmer out of the water is very satisfying!
