GREAT VIDEO -- But .... I'm using IIS 10 and in IIS 10, under web site page, there is no icon for "Logs". What can you suggest? It would be great if you could do a newer video using Internet Information Services (IIS) 10. Many of the icons in your video are no longer present in IIS 10.

In your example.com site you discuss the way that if it were a real we could browse the holding page in the URL feature of Internet Explorer. Can you expand a bit on this? I am personally trying to avoid availing of the services of hosting companies by creating my own domain name. I want to incorporate the wordpress.org content management system to allow permissions but I am unsure who I can do this. As with the holding page do I transfer my wordpress blog site into the www.root created or as suggested would I need to use an FTP. I am somewhat confused in this regard. Secondly I have a Wamp server is this effectively the same or what is the difference if any to the IIS7 2008 Server.

As I said I have being trying to host my own site without the services of a hosting service and in effect, to the best my knowledge will allow me to create my own Domain Name, has your example.com did. I am not sure if I am barking up the wrong tree or have misunderstood the function of the IIS7 2008 Sever but can one go real without availing of hosting service involved and if so how can it be done? Any assist in clearing up this would be of great help. Thanks

I have a site I made with visual studio and it has aspx files, flash swf files, and mysql activity. I currently use a host but they are down too often so I was wondering if this is the best route to take to serve the page myself. Should I use this? 2012? something else? My IP is dynamic, so is it still possible to do from home? Thanks in advance.

in root folder as you have to add html files, which one is going to be the index file ( i mean mainpage file), so how IIS will identify it

Thank you for the informative tutorial.  I also after filling into the hostname.  The added website will not come up.  When I leave the hostname empty, the website will up.  How can I correct the hostname problem?  Thanks.

Hi after i setup all of it and my "host name" is what i registered with GoDaddy, it says error_connection_timed_out and does not load my home page. The same was working when I added my site under "Default Web Site" as "Add Application". What's the issue? so "localhost/mysite" works but "web.mysite.com" does not work
