Whelen 80h and 90h Lightbar Builds

I have been finishing up projects and trying to turn my extra Whelen parts into lightbars when possible. I recently finished my 8000 series tow/wrecker bar;

I had the frames, internal parts, and domes left to make at least two 80h and/or 90h bars. I chose an iconic "base model" 80h bar in plain blue (like a lot of the flyers Whelen put out) as my easy build. I then went with a rotator / strobe combo 90h with clear cutouts in blue domes for the other bar. That one required more research, decisions, and work. This video details both bars and I walk though my thought process and choices for each build while demonstrating them.

Great video and well done on the build. I like the old school mechanical bars.

My Dad had an 80H on his Chief's buggy. It was similar to the first bar in the video, but with the rear flashers nestled between the V mirrors and had alley lights with factory cutouts on the ends of the domes. He did a custom white cutout on the inboard driver's side for that rotator and ultimately angled the alley lights forward and put them on a flasher for use as intersection lights. I think that's where my love of lighting came from, watching him modify that bar. One day I'll recreate it, I hope. Thanks for the great videos!

Very effective bars just ugly, think Houston Tx PD ran these lightbars back in the day.

Not gonna lie, this video made me a little sad... is there still hope for my 90 frankenbar? My pile of broken dome pieces is depressing.

How effective were these bars in comparison to Aerodynics and Streethawks or MX7000s?
