Also, if you rent a car, when you go to fill up all the gas stations are full service. They have a couple of scams here as well. First, make sure the pumps are set to zero before they start pumping gas into your car. Second, when you go to pay, sometimes they will try to switch out the money you gave them. For example, let's say you gave the service guy a 500-peso bill for gas. What he'll try to do when you hand them the money is quickly switch it out for a 50-peso bill and say you only gave them 50 pesos instead of 500 pesos. I think that happened to me on my first trip to Cabo. The next time we went to Cabo, we were aware of the scam and caught a service guy trying to do it. He didn't put up a fight when we called him out on it.

As a local from cabo i can say all of these are absolutly true and its sad because they afect everybody. Specially watch out for taxis they overcharge you all the time.
This kind of videos are really helpfull to would be tourists that wish to visit our beautiful town.
Also dont change currencies in the airport, they give you way less because they claim they have to pay a fee. Just wait and change currencies at a exchange house.

Have been there several times once in the timeshare Cabo villas right on Modano beach and the first couple times stayed in the house up in the hills right outside Cabo with the locals with a friends uncles house. Loved it back then can’t stand it now got to commercial used to go when there was only one stoplight in town and Cabo Wabo and El squid. They were the hotspots.

The real scam at the airport when you land is the money exchange. They have the worst exchange rate in all of Los Cabos and we'll try to convince you to convert more for a better price.

It's funny the narrator warns about hordes of people at airport trying to make money from you, and then comes a commercial from the sponsor of this channel ...

Do yourself a favor and avoid Cabo San Lucas.
It used tyo be a great place to visit. Not anymore. If you want a REAL Mexican experience you won't get it here.
Over priced hotels, condos, and food. Wall to wall hotels on the beach.
Hustlers, scammers, drug dealers, all kinds of shady people out there.
So many other places to go in Mexico to have a MUCH better time for a lot less.

I thought this was going to be a fake video with lame tips, but this is all true in Cabo and most resort towns (looking at you Cancun) in Mexico.

If you go the shuttle bus route, be prepared for several stops. Yours might be the first or the last. Been going for nearly 20 years...I know.

As a born and raised in Los Cabos you are totally right about the timeshare people at the airport. The sad thing is that even the airport authorities allow them to harass all the tourists arriving. There are so many honest ways to earn money, as you said just smile and ignore and do not say anything
