It looks like a spring. These were used all the time in this area as refrigeration. Milk was stored in crocks that were placed in these. I suspect this was an old spring house that was overgrown.

Wonder if the owner of the property is now regretting, not allowing Scott to go inside the discovered chamber... Also, I wonder if Scott checked out the property owners history on that land to see how far it goes back to.

The skill needed to do all this that long ago always fascinates me. Considering that today most people couldn't tell North from South, East from West. These people could lay out a structure to the degree is amazing.

Search, spring house or spring water protection boxes or shaker spring house. You wil see that these were common structures and more likely what they found. Although i really wish it would be something as cool as templer ritual place, i think a couple hundred year old spring house that still functions is pretty cool too.

Do an analysis of the mortar used to build the chamber. That will give you some evidence leafing to a date for the work.

Templars were in Italy, Rome, Nova Scotia, But Portugal was a main base btw

Whenever I hear about the knights templar and their missing wealth I wondered if it was possible that they came to Turtle Island. Especially after having lived in Manitoba, I heard a story about strange people coming and burying things and leaving.
