Fun fact: Wu Ze Tian was more well known in China for her support for the Imperial Exam system, before that officials were nominated by people in power - officials, nobilities, famous scholars, etc. so naturally they nominate their own people, and Wu's reform towards Imperial Exams (not exactly there yet because the nomination system still exist, but they also have to pass exams under her rule) gives poor people a chance to climb the government ladder.

Fun fact: when someone wrote a xiwen(aka official shitpost dissing certain individual) to critique Wu of her actions, but upon reading it, Wu was actually quite impressed by the writing of the text and even offered Luo Binwang, the author, a position in the palace. She never saw Luo coming into the job of course.
And yes, for many Chinese people, Luo's poem about the goose was one of if not the first poem that was ever learnt in our memories, at least that was what I remembered to be. Well, thats a similar quality a deal of poets in Tang share, to be involved in politics some way or the other.

Empress Wu Ze Tian is a great ruler. She is so ruthless toward people she considers could become variable of a coup de ta because China has a long history of backstabbing and betrayal, especially in the palace. She knew she could also become the victim like previous rulers who got exiled and assassinated. She did what she had to to defend her throne. Yes, she IS ambitious AF and will do anything necessary to gain what she wants even dirtying her hand. Even many women follow her legacy without them knowing her.

Elizabeth Bathory is known in Slovakia as ' Čachtická krvavá pani' or ' the bloody emperor of Čachtice'. Till this day there are horrors and folk stories of her spread upon us Slovakians. More or less, despite being Hungarian, her torture was spread all the way up to Slovakia, particularly the western part near Trenčín.
