“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” star Angela Bassett was a vision in purple at the 2023 Oscars, where she was accompanied by husband Courtney B. Vance and their kids Bronwyn and Slater. “Extra’s” Billy Bush and Jenn Lahmers spoke with Angela about her Best Supporting Actress nomination. I personally felt when I after I watched Wakanda Forever my first thoughts was that Angela Basset act her butt off. That was my first impression/thoughts. She left a very good impression on me. Even though she didn't win the Oscar her day will come and she is not finished.

For everyone who has taken issue with her "look" when JLC won, lets consider the amount of pressure put on her. They are literally standing on the carpet saying, "we can't wait to see you on the stage". She's been hearing this ALL of awards season. She's been in this business almost 30 years and this year has been monumental for her, but I also believe it's been a lot of pressure she has to be given grace by others. She is a human...a woman. She has hopes and desires, and as much as she graciously manages them, there are times when it's more difficult than others.

I'm a long time fan of Jamie Lee Curtis, but I honestly believe this was angela bassett year to claim her academy award they're both equally talented actress, but it's a bitter sweet moment for Angela. Angela Bassett looked dignified, classy and had integrity. She did not look disappointed or broken. She was probably frustrated and hurt. I have worked in the entertainment industry for years in a high level position. The industry is racist, sexist and anti LGBT and people with real degrees in drama and talent are getting tired of nepotism and the lack of talent in LA.

Anglea is a better actress than Jamie by miles. Sh provided a better performance in Wakada. The problem is Angela is an outsider from LA who went to Yale University and studied drama and fine arts. She has real talent and this is her craft. She shows experience, depth, range and quality. The same as Denzel Washington, Meryl Streep, Daniel Day Lewis, Viola Davis, Helen Mirren, Morgan Freeman, Forrest Whittaker, Lupita Ny'Ongo, and Idris Elba, all of

Jamie Lee Curtis dropped out of a 4th tier law school (a bad law school) and had zero experience and got ahead because she was born in LA and had family who was connected to the industry. Curtis is a not a great actress and it shows.

Its not surprising that Angela and all the other talented actors who take the profession seriously are getting tired of this crap.
