Arilux AL-SL06 Solar Sensor Wall Light from Banggood

Показать описание

The biggest solar sensor wall light I've ever seen - so far at least. There are 62 warm white LEDs on the front and a 5.5V 2W solar panel up top. Energy storage is provided by two 2200mAh 18650 cells behind the rear panel.

Disclosure: The review item in this video was supplied at zero cost.

Looks like quite a good light and the others you have have stood up to the test of time. Thanks for all the detail you put into this.

Julian, the sensor switch modes (1, 2, and 3) are in the instructions. You just missed it there! Thanks for the video, I am ordering one!

at 3:47 it says which position does what on the "Installation" page. Also those cells look UV damaged, you could fix them with a headlight restoration kit and you should protect your new one from UV as well.

I've got a nice application for that - I think some of those would be suitable for lighting some unlit outside areas at work so people don't trip in the dark rather than forking out for an electrician to wire in a fixed installation. Light would only be required between sunset (which is now about 4.30pm - worst case 3.50 in december) and 6pm. wouldn't be a problem if it didn't last all night, just needed long enough for everyone to get off site safely.

Try using car body cutting compound on your cloudy solar panels, it worked a treat on mine ;)

Don't know if anyone else noticed, but looking at the item on BangGood's web site, specifications show the solar panel rated at 2 watts and the light at 8 watts. This pretty much means that in high mode, the solar panel most likely not be able to keep up with battery usage, especially with the longer nights of winter setting in. Based on a 12 hour day, the light in high mode could use up to 96 watts, while the solar panels under the very best conditions will only be able to restore 60 of those watts. Would be interesting to see actual power consumption numbers for all modes.

put the solar panel outside the shed and put the led's inside the shed...nice video

If you want to try an experiment to see if you can stop the solar panels going cloudy over time, there is a product you can buy called "303 aerospace protectant". It's meant to stop UV and moisture causing degradation to plastics.

wonder if car headlight Polish can refresh the top layer of those older solar light panels

An exciting thing you missed, it runs on one battery! When you put them back in it turned on with just one cell.

A light sanding and some clear coat should help to regain efficiency.

I restore cloudy solar cells using metal Polish, then clean with soapy water. When dry brush on a thin layer of epoxy resin glue.

Is there anyway to properly clean the solar panels, I had some led garden lights and tried glass cleaner which did make it abit better?

How much current does it draw? (Full brighness / dimmed)

as you put in the first battery, the unit lit up partially and gone full brightness after putting in the second one. looks like every half bank of LEDs runs on it´s own battery. this could result in higher usage of one battery than the other.

Very nice video Julian! Like this new style 😊

+Julian, when you replaces the 18650 after ripping it apart, the system seems to have been on with only 1 battery installed. Are all the LEDs turned on with just one battery??

Great videos Julian. I hope we never run in to each other because I am going to have to "just touch your face" if we do ;)

Does there look like there is a bit extra space in there for wiring an extra 18650 or two just for some extra capacity if needed?

When unscrewing a screw be careful not to drop it onto the two solder ends of 2 Lithium ion batteries. It was a close call !
