Master Zephyr's Death Vs Marines (One Piece Film Z)

for me zephyr is the best movie antagonist ever, in some sort he was right on his goal, i cried this ending but alot like i was a marine there

This scene hits different after the recent events in the manga and all the character development:
1. This is the foundation for the relationship between Kuzan and Garp.
2. This movie puts Kizaru in a ruthless way, almost as of he got no feelings, but after the Egghead events we know that Kizaru is indeed a caring and troubled character, putting his duty before his feelings.
3. It's amazing to think that Kizaru could have ended the Strawhats journey once more, because none of them was strong enough to deal with him at this moment.

The villain in this movie had brilliant final words: "I'll give you guys one final lesson". As their former master what was that final lesson? To live, fight and die for your ideals, which means being FREE.

This is another “I should have brought a darker pair of shades” moment for Kizaru

This is one of the most beautiful moments on One Piece, even if it is not in the manga. Everybody's paying Zephyr the respect he deserves. Kizaru's being the one putting an end to his master's life, all the vice admirals just standing there watching, even Doberman's tears, with him being one of the marines believing in absolute justice... And the crew, everybody but Franky for obvious reasons, are looking at Zephyr's last moments in silence and respect, not turning their backs on him because they all know that the only reason they are leaving the island unharmed is because of him. A beautiful and sad moment, a perfect ending for a man like Z.

What sucks is this is non canon but he was one of the best written antagonists in the verse. Wasn’t even really evil. He had a right to hate pirates after what happened to his family and a right to hate the marines/government for betraying him and allying with those pirates. He took it to far but his anger was understandable. In the end Luffy helped him realize he had gone to far and painting all Pirates/Marines in that broad stroke wasn’t right. At that point he knew he was wrong but there was no taking back the things he had done so instead of being a hypocrite like many of the marines he had grew to hate he faced justice for the things he did in the way he wanted.

This movie made me respect the marines of one piece the way they mourn the end of their former captain but still have to do their duty this movie really was about justice and the way that even in the end the marines can still see it in zephyr
