OMG! HGTV give this woman a television show! Everything about her is amazing! Her delivery, suggestions, solutions, personality. Can’t get enough of Rebecca! ❤

I’m a sentimentalist. Every item has a story but I don’t like clutter. It stresses me out. So what I do is cycle my things. I take everything out of the space, open up my storage, and shop my own stuff to get a fresh look. That way I get to keep my things, feel fresh and uncluttered. Love your channel:)

OMG, Rebecca. You have the nicest, most diplomatic way of suggesting that people get rid of all that clutter. When I look at those photos, it gives me anxiety. Way too much of everything and way too much to clean around. I love your idea of the five day challenge. I think that’s a game changer.

I was watching this and my 9 yr old son sat and started watching it with me. After watching we looked around and got to work. He was excited to help. We took 2 loads of old & dated “wall art” and kitchen cabinet top deco to Goodwill. Plus we have another carload to go also! We’re preparing to sell and move so we don’t need this clutter! Love the videos!!

Not only are you the best interior designer in the world but you’re very kind. Some designers on YT are cruel and rude. They insult and hurt. Thank you for being so different.

The common conundrum for many older empty nesters is loving what we have without using everything we've sentimentally accumulated. Our former homes were family museums: space constraints dictated our decor choices in each subsequent move. Now we are in a small, open floor plan that doesn't lend itself to wall art except in the bedrooms. When extended family doesn't want what you're ready to move along, I use this simple formula: 1. Why am I not using this in my decor? 2. Would I be distraught if the item was destroyed in fire or flood? 3. Can I repurpose it? 4. Sell or donate: where do I want to put my time and effort??? Thank you, Rebecca, for reminding us that our homes should be refuges of peace. Blessings!

Decluttering has changed my life! Less anxiety and less time cleaning. More organized and fewer things for my children or husband to deal with when I die. Much more peaceful. It's worth it! ♥

Taking the challenge! You've been 100% right in all the past videos: I've raised my drapes up to the ceiling, I've put my window treatments on the wall not the window, and now I'm looking at getting rid of the Stuff! Especially on my walls! Thanks for the lessons!

Thank you, Rebecca for being SO kind about MY space! This is Kelly— and I have to say you nailed some of my issues! The “stuff” is coming down! Not only that- but I’m going to get as much of the furniture out of the room as possible so I can see it with fresh eyes! I will definitely send photos when finished. Again- thank you for sharing your keen eye in such a delightful way. I’m definitely going to check out the digital frame you mentioned and get myself signed up for the design sessions! HUGS!

I did the 5 day challenge out of necessity after the house had an unforseen incident. At first, I thought it was awful and too bare. After a couple of months, I put just a few, much fewer than I originally had, things out and loved it. It felt so much more intentional and peaceful. Never will I fill every space, nook, and corner again! Thank you.

Rebecca plainly said she likes these family photos.
She was trying to point out that too much is too much, trying to educate our eyes for more cohesive results I am certain. She is being very generous to those of us not even in her design classes. Thank you Rebecca!!!🥰💕🌹👌😉

I loved this video! It's easy to see other people's clutter and not recognize that you have the same problem. I'm going to declutter my space!!!

I minimize and reduce on a regular basis as things tend to creep into spaces. My husband does comment if it looks too curated and thank God because that's not all that welcoming and I think that is a mistake too.

I want to comment how respectful and kind you were throughout this critique. I'm sure everyone is busy clearing out, storing, passing on or donating after watching your tutorial. Love your videos.

I feel better seeing this. I've always been minimalist but felt like I "should" have more things on walls. I have more window space than walls, so that has helped me to not have a lot of stuff. Now, I can stop feeling like "not enough" when it comes to decor!!!

The timing of this video couldn’t be more perfect. Lately, I have been feeling like I have too much stuff in my house. Last week I began to pair down some of my decor pieces, but still feel like I could get rid of more. I love the idea of the five day challenge, that will help me a lot.

I just did this in my kitchen and you are spot on. I painted and then only put a few things up. Got rid of the rest. My husband walked in and said wow it looks so clean. We both liked it better.

LOVE this -- using real living rooms and teaching us how to remove items to make a room breathe serenity and peace, and updating as you go. As a painting major and art teacher, I pretty much know when too much is too much, but this will give me new eyes as I look at MY LR/den. We are trying to downsize because we are older and we took a carload FULL of stuff to my fall rummage sale at church. We will probably do the same thing again this March. We recently went through closet bins with old photos, scrapbooks and so forth. We got rid of a lot of junk we had saved for no real reason other than that we didn't "feel like" going through it. But as we put away our Christmas decor I thinned from three bins to two and then we attacked our closet bins. Prior to selling our previous home, I went through ALL our belongings twice. I am still getting rid of more. It seems like the first half of your life you accumulate stuff and the second half you spend getting rid of it. Just a warning to folks who are still in "collecting mode". Someday you will have to begin unloading possessions. Do not leave it all for your kids to go through once you have passed away. That is no gift to your kids, believe me. Start doling items out while you can. If they don't want your china or tools, donate or sell them.

This is the BEST video!! It is so obvious when a "regular homeowner" fills every surface to the max vs. a designer with a great eye who knows when/where to start...and stop.

Hi. I paused the video and started right away!! I am nowhere near finished, but already see a big difference. I have a lot of gift items that I feel guilty putting away, but I like your idea of changing them out throughout the year. Thank you
