Celebrating Sustainable Businesses in Africa Behind the B

March marks the beginning of an annual celebration of all Certified B Corporations around the world known as B Corp Month. Each March, B Corps from all sizes and industries highlight and educate on their impact journey across all of their stakeholders — their workers, customers, community, and the environment.

These days, it’s become increasingly common for people to distrust businesses. Who knows what’s really going on behind closed doors? This year’s B Corp Month campaign theme is Behind the B, aimed at showcasing the work that happens behind the scenes at companies that have decided to rethink the way they do business.

With just a few years of growing the B Corp Movement in Africa, there are now over 50 Certified B Corps in Africa and over 4,600 around the world – businesses of all sizes across over 150 industries.

Obtaining B Corp Certification is a complex, rigorous process, and the rigor increases based on the size and complexity of the business. This campaign, which has been translated into 9 languages, gives each B Corp the opportunity to share more about the actions they’re taking, the impact they’ve already made, the processes they have in place, and their commitment to create a more inclusive, regenerative and equitable economy.
