Why does it matter to me that the employee was 60?

1. Because at 60, you should be enjoying time with your family.

2. Because at 60, you deserve better than clocking into an office where no one notices if you're alive.

3. Because one day we will all pass, and we deserve so much better than to have our final moments in a soulless corporate office for a bank that's literally been busted stealing from us.

"We're a family here at -"

If that's family, it's better to be disowned

My grandpa asked "don't they have janitors? When I was working, there was a janitor checking every room and every trash can every day." I had to remind him that office cleaning is now largely 3rd party companies that only come in a couple times a week.

They even blamed the odor on bad plumbing. Whether the floor was "sparsely populated" or not, security is supposed to walk the floors when the office is closed.

This story speaks volumes about the quality of the work culture.

Spending your working life in a cubicle is depressing enough, but dying in one...😢

I worked a death case that was similar back in the 90s when I was a Payroll Manager. She came in on Friday morning, sat down, and had a heart attack. Because she didn't interact much in her position, she wasn't found until after hours by the cleaning crew. The saddest part was the employee was scheduled to retire the next month.

Ryan we are a lost civilization, did you hear about the employees that left another employee in the wilderness at a team building event?

Sad, four days, that says a lot about the company, her family, coworkers, and cleaning crew.

I am 60. I work in an office cubicle. There is NOTHING that I do in the office that I cannot do from home. Required to come in at least 3 days per week for "appearances". I have literally had folks 3 cubes away notice me walking to the restroom before leaving at 5 pm and saying "oh, you are here. I thought you were probably working remotely today." My manager is 2 states away. Only 1 other employee in my department and she staggers her remote days with mine. Fortunately, I have a hubby at home who would notice if I didn't come home. 😅

This also happened at my last employer a few months after I quit. His family called looking for him and everything, they just called his office and said he wasn’t in when he didn’t answer.

Wellsfargo fires people for mouse jigglers, but can't notice someone dead in their own cubicle.. The world needs to change man.

I have always hated Wells Fargo. I will never bank with them again.

That’s just crazy sad so poignant. This world has gotten so bad that no one noticed a fellow colleague dead in their cubicle for 4 days. Didn’t people say “good morning” or “good bye” to her? Why didn’t management make the rounds to check on their employees daily? How could NO ONE not discover that for 4 whole days?! Why didn’t she have any family or friends that missed her? It’s so sad.

Holy cow this is both surprising and not surprising at the same time.

Wtf, they mandate working at the office but do everything virtually regardless??? The manager is not even checking whether she is doing her work, which is the main argument every time, because they would have found the body earlier!

When I heard about this, I immediately hoped you’d be covering it. The whole thing is horrifying.

I could see no one noticing until the following Monday but this is still disturbing.

I work in the trades, recently working in house for a tech company. I'll end up getting called in for emergency work and when I go to my desk to write up paperwork I'll run into employees of the tech company working at their desk around the clock, weekends, nights, 4am. It's kind of bizarre, I'm used to working weird hours as part of the job but seeing people sitting in a cubicle working all weekend is strange to me.

This.
This is why i will never go above and beyond fpr a company again.

If something extra gets done it's because I wanted to.
