How to transfer audio from an mp3 player using a laser pointer

I made the same by using a LDR and also a solar cell from a used calculator. Both works. This sensor the guy uses is something I see on several robotic toys but don't know the actual name.

oh yea one more thing I have been working on a laser of hope you can put the sound of hope in light to help ones feel better when they are feeling hopeless. I can not put on youtube because it can be used as a weapon, but it can be done and its creates fun.

Here is simpler way have the positive line to a speaker pass through an LED light it not a laser but it works better.. when I sold clear speakers in the 80's

Nice video, i am considering making this work for my Home LAN, this would require the UTP cable to be translated into laser and back again. In a UTP cable two pairs of wires are used one pair to receive information and one pair to send information. So i guess you need two lasers and two light receiving cells. is there anyone who think this might actually work ? Because i am done with the sick making WI-FI signal. thanks in advance!
