Fascinating. Let's do another one.
We fly a long range bomber plane 10.000 km to the East and then 10.000 km to the Norf. Now we have to fly back to the base where we took off. Oh no! The fuel! We'd better take the direct route back home.
"Wait a minute.... We won't make it, captain! We only have enough fuel for another 10.000 km."
Capt: "Don't worry son, we'll be fine. Who taught you how to add normal vectors? That Schuster guy? Hmpf."
