Try the different colored varieties. You should have also tried the yellow version too. :-) The more deeper the color the better the taste. Also I recommend you chill it also it will taste better on a hot day. :-)

Here in Arizona we wait until around Halloween to harvest. The are best when the are a deep purple color and they are heavy and bleed with a small prick. Let them rest in the fridge for a day or two after harvesting and the will be juicy, sweet and delicious 😋🤤

I think that's about the best taste that you can get and watermelons and cucumbers aren't bad at all. It just doesn't have much sugar. 😊
