I bought my first Mac about a week ago after 20+ years of using windows computers. I powered down my mac for the first time and closed it. When I opened it the next day it just turned right on. I was a little baffled thinking to myself I must have never powered it off. I had to search YouTube just to confirm my suspicions. I know most of y’all probably see this video as dumb and unnecessary but i found it useful. I’m old but not that old. I’m still under 40

Thanks! I'm new to Mac. Opened the box, opened the lid, installed a case, put a screen protector, then realized, oh wheres the power button. Well I pressed every button on the keyboard, but realized that It wasn't charged, ha ha. Plugged it in, came right on, still not realizing that you just open it. Googled how to turn device on, learned something new.

If it does not power on on opening the lid or pressing the button just plug in the power cable it will power on withouth doing anything else
