Imagine the faces on their ancestors could they hear how these instruments sound today. I guess the same could be said of any instrument, but I have never heard these sounds other than in traditional settings.

This kicks ass!
Perhaps what they do could be seen as a gimmick - playing rock on traditional Korean instruments. But the music rocks, and they can play the crap out of those instruments. Reminds me a bit of Jambinai, who do something conceptually similar but more metal-oriented, and add conventional guitar, bass, and drums to Korean/Chinese two-string violin, reedpipe, and that koto-like instrument. These guys play it a bit more purist, but it rocks just as much.
