gmail became populair because of the "unlimited" storage, not because it was web-based (yahoo and hotmail were also web-based)

tabbed display_override and capture_links caught my attention! I immediately opened my personal website and added these two features. Thanks for the video 👏

This video has great content but is surprisingly hard to listen to. Seems like a bit of a theme unfortunately this year

Unless apple join's the fun, PWAs aren't really an option yet. Until then Apache Cordova seems to be the only option for cross-plattform-development with web-tech.

PWA is very great, but we have many limitations yet.
To send a simple tcp print, need a server local to do that.
NFC, Hardware access in general. Network info, like ip local or wifi name.

Thank god there isn't some fruit company that does everything in its power to hold the web platform back...
oh wait.

email clients were on the web: hotmail, yahoo etc. Why is it made to sound like everybody was only using dedicated email client software?
If I remember correctly, labels and plenty of storage were gmail's killer features

Great video!
All these code snippets are put inside the service worker script, right?

I can't understand why this amount of dislikes? Can anyone explain me? I would like to see a performance comparition beetween native apps and pwa with service workers. Thanks PJ.

Wow, these are some great features. Definitely not features that were only built to solidify Google's force-fed dominance in the web industry. Finally I can build a PWA that will only work in Chrome. A dream come true really /s.
I'd urge the developers looking at this to check out the cross-browser support for these features before going on a trip that ends with a product that mostly works on a single browser and maybe only maybe will work on the other ones within the next 5-10 years. We live in the future indeed.

All my respects for the technical knowledge but the controversial part I think is not coincidence. It is social engineering. Google and other big companies and politics want to impose to people how to think and what is socially acceptable. It is orwellian and we must to kept into account in order to be free individuals.
