These kids nowadays will NEVER understand how these times were and how impactful 50 Cent, G-Unit, and Eminem were back in the day.

Regardless if you liked 50s music or not everyone gotta admit 2003 50 cent shook the rap game like pac and biggie and when that wave hit many rappers felt it and was put on the sidelines no rapper today has that same effect like 50 the fact jay z, irv gotti, cam’ron many others in interviews admitted that 50 cent wave was strong he wasn’t an artist he was a movement

50 by himself was a force to be reckoned with. Dude was on a mission. The entertainment industry wasn't ready for him and he tore his way through. 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Jay Z knew once Em had his sights on signing 50, he knew the tandem with Dre and Em that it was about to get crazy! EM and 50 were like 4-5 years straight dominating the

He knew Dre and Em was behind it, plus his buzz. Jay knew he was dangerous.

He knew cuz 50 been hot in the underground scene of the tri-state area since the late 90s...n that's without a major label behimd him...remember there were people that actually wanted to sign him (like puff for example) but he was being blackballed behind the scenes where certain people *cough*murder inc*cough* persuaded labels not to fuck w him...that's y people from other sides of the country had to sign him...so when he eventually hooked up w one of the best producers in the galaxy and a dude that was currently selling millions of records to guide him, combine that w his work ethic n it was a WRAP n Jay knew it

Talent recognizes talent. Once Jay said "I'm about a dollar, who the fuck is 50 cent" at Summer Jam, that was it. When one of the best acknowledges you, you know you're just about where you want to be and originally set out to be and that was before he got shot and was signed to Shady Aftermath. 50 just needed that one shot and Em gave it to him, kind of the way Dre gave it to Em and they just clicked and stepped up eachothers game.

Yes definitely 50 cent had the biggest solo debut arrival in the history of Hip hop & music, his first major album on Aftermath was literally hyped up a entire year before it even dropped especially in magazine's & TV commercials & even the actual 6:00 news back then cuz we didn't have YouTube or social media so it was fuckin huge ASF & Jay obviously was smart & took that idea to do the same thing when he debuted Kanye West to the masses & mainstream the very next year after 50 came I can remember the double XXL magazine that had 50's name on it in huge letters but most mainstream fans didn't even know what 50 even looked like because he only had mixtapes & one actual album that was basically independent at the time even tho he was signed to Columbia already before Eminem discovered him so all mags just showed & said 50's name but no pics of him at all but that's because it was also written underneath that it was executive Produced by both Eminem & Dr. Dre & it was the first solo artist they both signed while Eminem was in his prime & at his ultimate peak in hip hop back in 02' -03'💯 Kanye Obviously blew up also a year & a half later but not nearly like 50 cent did!!! Kanye didn't get huge till about a year after his album was already 50 was literally everywhere since before day one & I still can't listen to "In The Club" because it was literally like the most over played song of 2003 & 2004 like seriously & still to this day I don't wanna hear that song because of how played out that song was back in the day even after Kanye's first smash hit single "Through The Wire" already was out for over a entire year & he had other hits after that on his first album but that still didn't have shit on 50, he was the longest played rapper with his first hit album single 💯 50 cent & his "Get Rich Or Die Trying" album was definitely by far the most biggest hyped up new artist & album of all time without any doubt still to this very day 💯

These kids nowadays don't understand how the internet kills mystique. We had a new artist come out and we couldn't just figure him out in 5 minutes. We actually got to layer our artists out and our thoughts grew as years went by. Now you know your artists whole life in 5 minutes. These artists get played out so quick cause of free streaming and what not. We had to wait til our favorite song came kn and when it came on at that right moment when shit was going right in your life It hit way different. They will never know how notorious thugs felt when It first hit the radio.
