Why Perception Matters More Than Reality

This is why propaganda is so important. Once enough people 'perceive' something - a human characteristic let's say - in a certain way, that way becomes "the truth" about said human characteristic, dynamic, etc.

But people practice their own personal propaganda towards people as well, both as a dispenser and a 'perceiving' recipient. Sometimes no matter how much personal propaganda one person is pushing, the intended receiver is not affected, due to his own perception, the 'truth' about the person. But that same person is also creating his/her own perceptions for himself which also become the 'truth' for him, regardless of whether they are actually 'truly' that way.

What happens is we're offered a sampling of pre-made 'perceptions' about anything from marriage, to women, young women, male-female dynamics, the "man" archetype, the "woman" archetype, the "college" archetype, the "well to do suburbanite" archetype... It's subtle, but all of these ideas are fed to us very gently, but as very intentional, particularized representations or expressions of these universal ideas. And those, and only those, are then repeated until these particular expressions of the idea, are immediately recognizable by the majority of people, who then eventually come to see this idea ONLY in this particularized way. Subconsciously, after so many exposures to this particular version of reality, the people wind up ONLY thinking of this THIS particular version. This manufactured expression of **insert perceivable reality object here** comes to hold the spot of "reality" in people's heads, since its the only way they are able to perceive the thing.
Eventually, IOW where we are now, the "truth" in most all areas of life, at least the ones that matter, are given this treatment by our mass media, which now perversely holds the role of trying maintain an entire 'reality' in our heads which is also made up of all of these manufactured individual 'expressions', which are all equally biased half-truths.

At some point, people can feel the ship swaying, it's bow less and less able to take the oncoming bashings from REAL reality, their instincts know despite the propaganda-inculcated 'truths' that they've stored. These ideas, they sound nice, but people do not operate this way, hence why we are not functionally operating at present time, and instead failing to reproduce entirely... we are resting our 'realities' on falsehoods and propaganda training that is designed to take us further away from what our biology and natures demand, what real REALITY demands.
