Find the Missing Terms in Each Arithmetic Sequence - 6 to 10
Показать описание
This part 2 of a video tutorial on finding the missing terms of a mathematical sequence. To find the missing term or terms of a mathematical sequence first you have to determine the common difference of d of the sequence.
To get the common difference, get the difference of any two consecutive integers from the sequence. Once you have the d, you may know get the missing terms by using the formula an = a1 + (n-1)d. a1 is the value of the first term.
If a1 is unknown but there is a value for d, use the formula for any given term. Substitute the actual value of the term and substitute also the d and you may find a1.
If a1 and d are unknown, use two equations of any given term. And then use elimination to get the value of d.
Once you get the d, get also the value of n, and then you may now find the values of the other missing terms.
