Learn it when you need it, Instead of learn it for the sake of learn. The amount of valuable details will reveal only when you truly need something for productions, instead of some tutorials.
The tragedy part of programming is that tons of people are learning tons of buzz words/techs for the sake of passing the interview. It's result from both the terrible companies interview process + tons of new people who wanted to jump into this field.

If you don't use AWS currently, it's simply because you don't need it. Stick to your DO or Heroku or whatever that serve your purpose, and built them well. Knowing AWS at this point will not benefit the thing you did at all, even worse, blindly chase tech trend will make you know nothing in depth. At certain point when you hit the wall, looking for alternative solution to scale your product. A well build applications can easily allow you to migrate to the new tech, for example, AWS.

Don't do premature optimization and architecture, because the optimization or architecture might not fit the problem you tried to solve. You will just end up rebuild everything.

Honestly AWS seems risky to use in any business as Amazon has shown they will cut your service if they do not like your content.
