Moose has always been the bridesmaid, but never the bride. I guess I'm ok with it since, no lead has ever returned to reprise their role. Sure Tyler Gage came back in the beginning of Step-Up 2, but that doesn't count. At least we've got to see Moose in the last 2 movies and this one too.
