Ron - you rock!!!  I have a 1986 Coleman Columbia with a broken cable and I've been looking for a HOW TO video for over a month now.  Thank you!  I hope you publish part II soon.

I know this is kinda old but did you put the 2x on top of the floor jack inside on the roof and pick it up?
