😢 these are facts. Thank you Garrett. My husband did four years of research on the Corso. When we were finally ready we searched for a good breeder. When we found that breeder they themselves made sure we understood the magnitude of this breed. We can proudly say she is all we wanted and then some. She is very well trained and socialize. She can go anywhere and I mean anywhere. We still continue to work with her everyday. Because everyday is a training day! ❤❤❤. This dog is not for everyone.

And it doesn't help that people's egos convince them of unrealistic expectations

I know someone that got a Cane Corso, you had to commit to 8 weeks of puppy training or you don't get the puppy 💖

As a GSD owner it breaks my heard to see so many of them in shelters. If money wasn’t a problem id create a sanctuary for them

I’m from the Netherlands and over here I see them more as well. We do not really need protection dogs, people just want the dog as a “status symbool”, it looks cool.

Corsos have become so popular because of the internet. They are the ultimate family protector, hands down. Just that nobody knew about them 20 years ago cause they were so rare. Now there's a gazillion videos out there that everyone finds when they search for "ultimate protection dog breed". But only very, very few can handle them.

I have a German Shep/Pit mix. Shes relentless and trusts no one. I love it.

All depends on what you need your protection dog to do, sometimes all you need is a dog that looks intimidating and will bark that's enough to deter someone

We were discussing these at the shelter. They're too much for me, and a volunteer has one, and he said they're another level. I know this because of these videos.

I'm happy with American Bulldogs. You can really enjoy the dog because once they're trained and bonded, they're loyal, and they dont challenge your authority. It is hard work to get to that point, though. It takes a lot of time and effort.

I've met a few corsos, with different types of owners. They are everything you think of when in person. BUT they are huge and the ones I've met besides one that was a little to nervous for my liking, where all calm, cool, and once they accept you, they want all the rubs and attention like any other dog. But you can see their protective side the whole time. They are in-between you and the owner until they find something else to do. They are never too far away, and usually, they have a good recall response. But you can tell by the owner if that particular corso is well managed.

In Georgia everybody has Pitt Bulls/Bully dogs. In my neighborhood I see these stray dogs running loose and I see dogs from neighbors jumping fences and running loose. I really wish there were laws that requires owners to get dogs tags and registered if they are big guard dogs. It's a scary thing to walk out your door and have a Pitt looking at you confused.

I’m a mastiff owner, currently have an English and previously French and Neapolitan (rip my babies). People don’t realize they have to put in the work with big stubborn dogs. It’s really sad because they are amazing dogs and amazing family dogs.

I found mine on Craigslist for $300. Trained her myself to be a service dog. Garrett helped with his videos. I got lucky, as she's laid back and even lazy.

First dog should always be something that you can easily get control of. Unfortunately I see a lot of corso halos on the horizon 😢
