Here is a handout to help you get started with the fabric cutting and sizes.

This is great because it's basically a paper piecing without the paper. If you would have said, hey we're going to paper piece, I would have said YIKES! But you explained this one SO WELL, I think I can do it! And then maybe my fear of paper piecing might not be so bad since this was my "practice". :). Thanks Laura!!

To anyone having as much trouble with this block as I had, draft a pattern on graph paper for FPP. I started with a 4.5” ruler, drew 4” block inside and the drew lines from center top to each corner. I took a photo but don’t see an option to add it. It looks great and was so easy.

Question? I joined the club, picked the scrappy fabric from my stash, cut them to size, choose two colours of what could be the contrasting fabric..picked the orange one..great.. I’ve discovered I’m a bit short on the orange and the other fabric is gone.Is it important that this contrast fabric be all the same or can I mix in other orange fabric… same contrast colour but a different print. I’m loving this mystery 😅

I am so confused. My block is finishing at 4.5" square. Am I doing Something wrong?

Am I the only one questioning the amount of triangles we end up with? The 3” x 6 1/2” contrast fabric from which we cut 52 pieces is cut in half diagonally leaving a total of 104 triangles. Same with the scrappy rectangles of same size but we go from 8 pieces to 16. Is this correct? Do we use the extra fabric later?
