I get pain when I externally rotate my hip doing the self- test.  Not as much when I lift my leg up.  Is this a different scenario?

i have (diagnosed) FAI and i'm wondering if this is the same thing: When i sit especially w/o crossing my legs, when i get up i can barely walk for the first 20 steps, it hurts so bad in my hip flexor and i'm limping, thankfully it straightens right out!

Can see it straight away if you do a standing hip flexor in a mirror with shirt off...one side is tight as and back arches (apt), other side not at all
