Imagine going to Antarctica with no oxygen and sanstorms.

Plus the millions of miles to get there.

The first step is to get astronauts back on the moon!!!

1. Moon base is critical
2. Mars orbital base is second
3. Then discuss actual plans

We have to build a base on the moon first. If we can launch from there and overcome the obstacles of living on the moon. We could then go on to Mars. Relatively easy. But without a strong magnetic field around Mars. Most settlements would have to be underground.

Start with the 2 astronaut that is still stuck in space

We can. They’re working on it. If you showed someone 100 years ago your phone, they would think you were an alien or faint.

Going to Mars may require a new entity. Something like a cyborg. Human beings were specifically created for life on earth and not on another planet.

Space x's most recent rocket exploded before it reached space lmao

It will definitely happen in my lifetime but building a secured facility to protect Earthlings from Mars' dangerous conditions.

Mars’ atmosphere is mostly carbon, and it has very little oxygen.

6 months... That's just enough time to binge watch "Lost" on the way there.

To get the mars in a couple of months Is crazy. To come back takes 3 years that's ridiculous.

Getting to Mars with current tech sounds like people crossing the Pacific on bamboo rafts. Kind of doable but risky.

I think it’s absolutely stupid and ridiculous to make this a country based, “we did it first so I’m better than you” effort. If humanity can’t come together for this we don’t deserve to leave the planet and should embrace our finality

I've got an idea - why don't we send Tesla Optimus robot astronauts to Mars? They would survive the journey and don't need to eat. We could see through their eyes and command them virtually as if we were there in person. We would gather tons of data before we risk sending humans.

The basic answer is no unless you want to leave them stranded there
