+1 for the Mazda cx-5. No turbo, no CVT, made in Japan.

Plus since Scotty is in Tennesse during the winter, they don't have to worry about snow as much because Tennesse doesn't get as much snow as in the northeast states

Still using my 2002 Toyota Camry V6, can't justify replacing it yet since it is still working fine with typical maintanance, though I am on my 2nd starter motor. Only annoying issue once or twice a year, I will get an evap code, thus it seems like the vent control is beginning to fail, and there isn't much info online on fixing in a cost effective manner.

On any 2024 I would suggest not revving up your engine.

It’ll probably break 😂

I gotta get me a Corvette now. My older dog needs a low car to get in and out of easily. She dreams big!

Scotty :
About the new Dodge Ram Trucks can a person go to the Junkyard and get a used drive shaft out of a Dodge ram truck or a Dodge van and use one of those in the new Dodge Ram trucks. Because the older ones you can replace the U-Joints.

In the 1970's & 80's for Breaking an Engine in, The word on the Street was, that a Newly Rebuilt engine, ( and a New Crate
- Engine ) you would use a High Quality brand of " Non Detergent " motor oil, Drive it easy [ except for going 60 mph. once or
- thrice ] and change the oil after 50 miles.
( looking back I would think an oil analyses might be an Advantage so you could How the engine was waring),
Than you would do " a Complete oil Change " use a High Quality / High Detergent (H.D.) motor oil of the " Recommended
Weight; "
- finish the " Break in, driving 500 miles, " And do one more Oil Change . And Regular oil changes after that ! ( according to
mileage intervals ).

2024 harley davidson came out with a totally new system on the street and road glide and there are a bunch of people complaining about the new system because they are getting stuck with different problems. Check it out.

For good break-in, don't use autothrottle at all. You'll naturally vary engine speed, load, etc. with each mile.
Also, borrow from "hypermiling" techniques when possible. Eg, gently accelerate to a good clip, then coast down. Reaccelerate, then coast down. Rinse, repeat. That exercises other systems (purge, evap, etc.) as well.

Small changes in speed while keeping it in one gear is not enough. Run in the top three gears while breaking in.

That sounds basically like just drive it like normal...? except without slamming your foot on the gas/break... but gradual increases up and down...? or maybe I misunderstood... would driving it in the city (without slamming the gas or brakes...) for the first 1000 miles do the same thing or is it critical to drive x miles constantly at 50, then 55, then 60, etc... ? I remember when I was a kid they used to say... driving under 50-60mph for the first 1000 miles... taking it easy of course... then change out the oil and do it again...

Do they put special break-in oils in new cars that roll off the assembly line, or is it just regular oil?
