This is so interesting. Most recently I had a few interactions with someone who seems to possess narcissistic traits. I noticed that the individual would just tell the most obvious lies. Some of them were done to impress me, which did not work anyways. Other ones were done for no apparent reason. It’s hard to understand people who lie so much.

Thank you, Dr. Grande.❤

Love these videos. Wish you still did long form videos on mental health topics specifically!

The hair cut one was making me remember the time I was in cosmetology school and my then physically and emotionally and mentally abusing B/F popped in for an impromptu haircut (I had not learned men’s haircuts and had no experience) he basically told me I was going to cut his hair despite my level of skill. He was Asian and Asian hair is so hard to cut and manage he left looking like a pineapple 🍍

This short is fascinating-and that’s not an altruistic lie. 😁 Thanks Dr. Grande

"Do these jeans make me look fat?" she asked. "Not at all!" he exclaimed.

Dr.Todd is utilizing YouTube Shorts in a fascinating way I've never seen before. He's "chunking down" complex thoughts to make them understood across time.

My partner had difficulty with language neurons, and she would be so proud of having come up with a sentence that she would use it immediately rather than recycle it. If she had a choice she would aim for the most profitable outcome! But if she wrote something down, it was always completely accurate - hugely atypical for a borderline.

What about compulsive lying? They don’t even know why they’re lying. It’s compulsive; almost like they can’t help themselves. Is that a different category, or does it fit into one of these categories, Dr. Grande?

I want to see the haircut that inspired that statement😂

I tend to divide lies into lies of commission and lies of omission. Lies of omission being when one leaves out pertinent information for reasons of deception.
