Oh my gosh! I live in Hackettstown! I heard about Miss Tillie's murder at Centenary. Her spirit is supposed to be still haunting the college. My husband got his masters there, but didn't encounter her.

Yes! I don't think Mr. Brief Case knows just how much we all appreciate his channel and how much he can brighten up a rough Monday!

I really love your old stories from the 18th and 19th centuries...so interesting to hear about things that happened so long ago. I appreciate your research efforts!

I am continually impressed by the thoroughness of your research and your ability to humanize the individuals involved. I love the historical aspect; as a true crime fan (not sure that is the right word to use) I feel that the ability of the police to sove these crimes with the limited means available is truly incredible. Also, to cover current crimes is much easier than the research required to investigate these much older ones. You have a talent for telling the stories from the perspective of the victim as well as the perpertrator.

Thank you for the lovely surprise of having FOUR cases to listen to! I remember hearing the Tillie Smith case! I wonder what life was like for James Titus after he was released from prison. To continue living in the town where you were convicted of a murder must've been very rough. I may look up census records to see if I can find any info.

Brief Case I have been listening to you now for about three years and love every episode.

Your attention to detail, the breakdown of each case from start to finish and your calm and matter of fact narration is so appreciated.

I would love it if you could do a compilation from your first cases for those of us that haven’t gone back that far.

May 2024 be great for you.

I find it peculiar that Charles was released. Especially when he said he had been with Tilly at 10 after 10pm. The coroner believed she had been killed between 10:15 and 11pm. Although Charles was seen in the bar drinking around 11pm, he most definitely had time to strangle Tilly Smith and leave the scene!

And this is why you don’t just see a lady to her door, but wait until she is safely inside.
