Your school taught you knitting and embroidery in SUPW, mine made me ‘do whatever you want, just don’t make noise’

I guess SUPW is a ICSE thing, we had many of the similar things you mentioned, like making rugs out of old clothes, decor out of waste, crocheting etc. It was also one of the components during 10th board and it appeared in the marksheet as well. 😊

Edit: My bad, so I guess it's both an ICSE and a CBSE thing ! 😅

I am thankful to my school for having SUPW periods. Being a creative and artistic person, SUPW always helped me to connect with my creative soul and rejoice it amidst the hectic periods and exam periods. ❤

Is no one going to talk about how amazing her embroidery is??

I THINK SUPW was an ICSE school thing. We learnt carpentry (yes we actually made furniture) and knitting, made pillows, jewelry, cushions, pillow covers, tie-dyeing t shirts, and even made mats and hats lol.

Supw was also in my schools. Studied in an ICSE school. We made a lot of necklaces, cards, pencil stand and knit. Loved that class so much!!!❤😊

In KV, SUPW used to be a subject until a few years ago. I learnt so much in those periods like Sewing, hemming, stitching buttons, rafu, making decorative pieces from waste, and my favourite - a knitted fan from palm leaves- it was quite useful in summers.
Edit: The replies have made me realize how lucky I was to have Daniel ma'am as my teacher. 😭 She gave our whole class of 40 free palm leaves from her own garden to make those fans and even returned them after evaluation so that we could use them.

I'm in class 9th and my supw teacher is the worst. Like whenever she comes in our class,
she always have the disgusted expression. ALWAYS. One day she told the students to bring the supw work because the next day
is the supw exam. The next day i brought my supw work and then the supw period came. When she entered the class, she sat down on the chair and started taking the supw exam . My roll no came and went up to her to show my supw work. When i was displaying the supw hankies, she gave me a sarcastic look and said" You need to work harder". I was agitated and sat down on my seat. I had made it with so much hard work and this woman is saying that you need to work harder? What enmity do you have against me? First of all, she knows my mother, unfortunately. Second, they're both in the same school, which is
sad. Third, she always taunts me in class whenever she gets the chance. Just because she's a teacher doesn't mean she has the right to taunt me and bully me every time.

All of you've done such wonderful, interesting stuff. We just cleaned the school. The corridors, desks, windows, the railings and all of that. We used to knock on the doors of other classes WHILE they were going on. The teachers disliked us but we provided some entertainment. I don't think the actual cleaning staff liked us very much either. It wasn't like they got a holiday and they had to clean up after us anyway. It wasn't as productive as the school would've hoped. Actually, it was quite a waste of time and it wasn't too interesting unless you had to clean up someone's vomit.

Reading all these comments, I have realized that we never did such fun things....all we are doing rn is painting pots and drawings...which is really boring compared to what ya all did! I'm currently in 10th (ICSE) and SUPW is reallyyy boring....I wish we are also taught sewing, stitching etc etc in the coming monthss😌
