Rain world workshop mod showcase - The Friend

This Rain world modded slug cat got an update with NEW features! So, the mod developer asked me to make a mod showcase for them to put up on their steam page!

If you want to have lizard pups of your own, then go give the mod a download, the future of it is looking promising!

I re-made this video, pretty much, from the ground up to show off new features of the mod that weren't present in the long video which is on my channel!
I'll be making a brand-new video this weekend, so it won't just be another of one of these I promise!

The friend is just so fluffy I can see why the lizards would want to be nice to them.... most of the time

Lizards may accidentally eats you instead of the food your holding when trying to Hand feed them.

As a lizard owner myself i must say that thats actually realistic because mosr lizards have sideways facing eyes, so they can look right infront of them and just bite blind, at thing they have spottet when farther away.

I like the new lizards. Especially if the large lizard is more like a gentle giant to small creatures like slug cats.

I've played with THE FRIEND. It's pretty calm and you can appreciate the view a bit more not worrying too much about the lizzies around. Is also satisfying cause he jumps really high and moves as if he is made of *cotton candy*. 🥺

My favorite silly little fella has made a video on a silly little fella!
The neutrality towards lizards is huge in terms of difficulty change.
If you are still able to befriend the scavengers, then the whole prospect of “dying” becomes A LOT harder.
Their only real threat then are centipedes and spiders, the latter I noticed in droves on Saint’s campaign.
For reasons I cannot discuss due to spoilers, there is going to be a lot of rot added in at least one region (proof look at the workshop page) so that balances it a bit.
I wonder what else might be added to potentially balance the difficulty

don’t know why, but honestly those giant lizards look really really cool. the lizard pups are easily my favorite part of the mod though; they’re friggin *tiny* and i love them so much

With the combination of baby and giant lizards I could totally see the big mama lizard reacting like a mother noot, hunting you to the ends of the earth for harming it's babies

Some stuff I found out about the new lizards (I tested with it yesterday so there have probably been changes):

The two lizards in the code (at least their name if you use dev tools and press L) are "Younglizard" and "Motherlizard."

Every single lizard is afraid of the mother lizard (I mean just look at it).
Mother lizard will hunt blues and strawberries, and kill greens and reds.
They are aggressive to slugcat if you don't have good lizard rep.
Have the usual green lizard diet (I'm pretty sure).
Very tanky and big bite damage.
Will try to kill many threats (even pole mimics and monster kelp).
Scavengers are bad at dealing with it, barely throwing things at it and often getting too close.

Young lizards are afraid of every lizard except blues, strawberries, and salamanders (idk why salamanders but it's there ig).

Greens and reds will hunt these lil beans.
They will eat batflies.
They are afraid of slugcat if it doesn't have good lizard rep.
Throwing a rock at them makes them scared of you even with good lizard rep.
Sympathetic scavs will prioritize throwing rocks at them (or maybe that's just a thing they do with all threats).
Any other scav won't hesitate to end them (so mean!)
They have extremely low body weight, making many things fling them.
Young lizards seem to like being somewhat close to mother lizards (if they see a threat they will run for their life tho)

Both are easy to tame, young lizards requiring only one food (easy with a batfly), and mother lizards requiring 1-2 feedings.
They are both cute :)
