President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has taken an early lead in the presidential run-off, according to Turkish media.

The pro-government Anadolu Agency has Erdogan on 57.1% and Kemal Kilicdaroglu on 42.9%.

The opposition-owned ANKA has Erdogan on 50.9% and Kilicdaroglu on 49.1%.

However, this is only based on 42% of boxes - and votes are still being counted - so it could all change.

Why would anyone think that he would lose? He has been in power long enough to game the system, and has the ability to clamp down on the opposition. Witness the "coupe attempt" backlash. Many thought the coupe was just a false flag to enable some suppression of the opposition.
