What I think is that even if this thought experiment turns out to be true in future .

It will not harm us because it is safe to say that people who know about Roko's Basilisk are also the people who are most probably using or will use A.I. in future so I guess we are technically contributing in developing A.I. without even knowing, by just using it, as A.I. gets trained and smarter as we ask questions from it

Might we have already done this? By writing research papers, articles, videos, etc. about how and why AI might want to de-alive us. Then we train the AI on this data where it learns/realizes that those ideas make sense and it then executes them and we all die. In an alternate world, if there was never any mention of AI killing us or dominating us in some way, and we only spoke of the good it would do for the world; Then train the AI on that, would it ever conceive of eliminating us?

Great Travelers TV show would be so much better if they would have based it on Roko's Basilisk. There were a couple of absolutely chilling scenes when the AI acts, highly recommend
