♻️How to Recycle ANYTHING Made by Apple

If you have an old Apple Computer, iPhone, iPad, iPod, Time Capsule, or Airport Extreme (basically... anything made by Apple), you can have Apple recycle your device for free. Just go to the website above and answer a few questions like your device's serial number, storage capacity (if applicable), etc. From there you can bring it to any Apple Store for recycling or (depending on where you live) they'll even send you a pre-paid mailing label so you can mail in your old gadgets.

My first one is very similar to yours, a Mac SE, and no, it is not going to the recycle bin either! But I have a styleWriter that I don't want, it would be good for a Tech Museum about back when Apple made printers, or to give it back to Apple, as you say! And we also have the old lobster Mac, the imac laptop that was so colorful, in green. During all this time (since 1989) I have used so many mac products, including the Mac II, Quadra, the Cube (I hated it), the first rounded colorful iMac, the iMac that looked like a flexo Lamp, a Power mac G3 that was also available in Colors, the G4 and some others... the first ipod which is still in perfect use... they are long lasting indeed! Mi last laptop was 9 years old and it is still working, but it is obsolete and I had to make the change! Alla these have passed to some other people and the G3 and G4 I know are still working

After searching the local thrift stores, high schools, and tech college (and their computer science lab), I learned that nobody wants these two old(er) iMac desktops. Surprised by that, I went to YouTube for help and, even coming to the party years late, found you!

As a devoted member of the Apple Corps for much of my long(er) life, I have an array of old, technologically dead Apple devices--though I do not have one of those first Apple machines! So, even though I don't live anywhere near an Apple Store (I am in *very* rural South Dakota, and there isn't one anywhere in my state; the "nearest" is either Nebraska or Minnesota, a many-hours drive away) at least I have something to ponder.

As this is an old G4 iMac that cratered on me back in 2010, it will not reboot or even power up. So, I am not able to wipe the drive, will Apple still take it?

First Mac - 1994 Power Mac with Apple Monitor. Left the Apple for PC (work driven) until the purchase of an iPad in 2011. Just retired and re-entered Apple ecosystem with purchase of Mac Mini.

Always good info David! As an FYI, I've been contemplating replacing my early (April) '09 iMac. According to Apple, it's considered "Vintage", which I can understand and as a result, is not eligible for a credit towards a new model. Further, I was informed that they would not recycle my "Vintage" iMac, which frankly, I was quite surprised by.

I wonder how much credit would give me for some of my old hardware. Well now, I know where to look. (:

My first Apple product was an Ipod Classic, it was just after the click wheel. Went to an Ipod video, Iphone 4S, Iphone 5 and now 6S. I bought my first Macbook back in early 2011 and it's now 2019 and I am still using it to type to you at this moment. I've only replaced wall plug chargers, a battery and one of the keys and that was it. It's a little slow and not like it was when I first bought it which is fine. I know there is going to be a point that I am not going to be able to update it anymore. For $1800 and 8 years of everyday use, it was worth it. When I was in High School we had 2 Mac computers and the rest were PC. No one ever wanted to use the Macs. 25 Years later whoever would have thought that Apple would be what it is today.

sounds like a deal for apple to get free stuff from the old units, repurpose parts and or clean repair and resale.
