In 2030, Europe, imperfection is outlawed. Thought to threaten the peace restored after war, 'Imperfects' are sent off away from their families, never to be seen again. In the counting search for anything other than precise, teens 16 through 17 in Great Britain are tested before they can continue their education in New London.

Noel doesn't think she'll be able to pass the 'test'. But she's determined to get out alive.
