I'll teach you the concepts and theory behind Jazz guitar walking bass lines and show you how to apply it to a Blues in Bb. Walking Blues bass lines guitar are fun to play. You can play alone or with a band, but without the bass player. They're always late anyway :-)

I've also made a fast and a slow Walking Bass blues backing track for guitar. You can start practicing right away. No more excuses ;-)

Jazz guitar walking bass chords are thrown in between the beats (oof beats) to add harmonic texture and fun.

I've also made a TAB for the Walking blues bass lines guitar, which can be downloaded from thePaypal link above. Please read the download instructions!

This walking bass blues guitar lesson is for every intermediate guitarist. You don't really have to be experienced or know a lot of theroy. I will cover all this in this guitar lesson. I'll show every blues walking bass line on guitar note for note, slow and easy and explain the concepts behind it.

I hope you enjoy this Jazz Blues Walking Bass guitar lesson and give this tutorial a fat thumbs up. Please don't forget to share the love and the knowledge and subscribe to my channel for more lessons.
I also have a Jazz Guitar Walking Bass lesson video up here on YT, that teaches you the general concepts behind walking basslines with chords.

Walking bass blues guitar is fun to play at sessions too, where there are often dozens of guitarists available, but no bassists ( I told ya, they`re always late for the show;-). Wow! Years of studying... (without playing guitar; spine injury)... practicing everything on My Piano app with my good hand. I never played jazz the 30 years befor the injury: I played lots of rockabilly guitar, bass, drums, (& mandolin for bluegrass & Americana music)... you just helped me bridge the gap between what I learned by ear and the little bit of theory I was taught as a kid... and learning jazz blues with the tension chord lesson, this lesson, and modern jazz chords... something FINALLY clicked tonight. I think one main thing was THINK LIKE A BASS PLAYER! HOW WOULD I HAVE WALKED THIS PIECE ON THE BASS.

See... Yesterday I discovered I was overthinking and over complicating my approach to learning jazz-- because I couldn't figure out the pieces I love by ear (Thelonious, Chet, Nina, Sonny Rollins, Wes, etc)... I used to figure out everything by ear starting with figuring out the main key, and I knew the chord families, so it was easy with Hendrix, zeppelin, VH, Floyd, Gene Vincent/ Stray Cats... bitty with jazz I was trying to figure out ALL the chords that were being played! Ha! No wonder I was confused (besides playing totally by ear without a guitar)...

But with my revelation to start figuring out the bass to find the key of the tune, then studying the 10 most important jazz progressions, then your incredible jazz chord lessons, and now this lesson? I realize I have what it takes.

You take things that sound very complicated, and teach them in a way that makes it seem simple-- it makes sense. And I can see the chord intervals you're using, and understand why... great reminder to play b7 Mixolydian mode on th he dom 7th chords, e.t.c.

I can't even thank you enough!

Im going to share a video of me playing a little once I get this left hand stronger.

I'm grateful for your lessons.

Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom!!

I can play a bit now thanks largely to spending a lot of time with your videos, I try them all. This one is more challenging than it looks, a week doing 2 hrs a night and I’m still not nailing the feel but definitely getting there, it’s great fun to play…..thanks for all your efforts, my favourite jazz tutor on YT.

Another great blues lesson to add to my repertoire. I've watched your tutorial on walking bass a few months back and tried to apply it to a (standard) blues. This lesson is a good control for me, if I did it correctly.

Thanks Sandra. I can no longer ignore the hybrid picking technique. Up to now, I am embarrassed to admit, I have been using a pick exclusively and just trying to make it all work. Time to expand my jazz horizons!
