Kaine expects Senate to move 'very quickly' on national security bill after immigration deal

I am so old, I remember this same old bait and switch from the 1980's. Ted Kennedy led the Democratic efforts and Ronald Reagan was the face of the Republicans. Kennedy got Reagan to agree to giving amnesty to the millions of illegal immigrants in the country at that time. The Democrats vowed that once amnesty was granted to everyone here, that the Democrats would seal the border and end this madness.

I know all of the senators currently creating a bipartisan "agreement" simply will not honor anything in the agreement.

I am old and won't be here in a few years, but everyone who's supporting this will come to regret giving away your and your children's birthright.

Kaine talked about letting illegal migrants know their rights? I think they need to learn about their responsibilities as us citizens before learning their rights. Everyone talks about their rights, yet very rarely anyone talking about their duties or responsibilities as a citizen of America!

If Senate Democrats and Republicans can get a bipartisan immigration deal and then national security, out of the Senate, they'll at least look competent, functional, and responsible. Unlike the House, that just threatens to remove the Speaker, every time the government doesn't shut down.
